Outstanding First Year Omega Seamaster Mark 1 Bumper Automatic c1948
This is an outstanding unrestored example of a gents classic wristwatch made by the world renowned premier Swiss maker Omega.
The watch is a super rare 1948/49 first year of production Omega Seamaster. Model reference 2576 the earliest Seamaster.
This is an amazing unrestored example of this iconic Omega. All of the edges are clean and sharp, it has never been polished or restored.
The original untouched sub seconds dial is near perfect with just a very fine even patination to the surface, remarkable considering its age.
The dials on the very first Seamasters were not marked Seamaster this is completely correct for this early example, the word Fab Suisse indicates that it was destined for the French market.
The hands and lume are original and untouched. The crown is original with the early flat footed symbol.
The movement is an absolute gem, sparkling clean and unblemished it really does look like new. We have never seen such an early movement in this pristine condition.
The only work we have done to this watch is to service the movement and give the case a thorough ultrasonic clean.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
An Omega "bumper" is a vintage Omega that has a "bumper" automatic movement rather than a full rotation rotor automatic. The oscillating weight makes a partial rotation before "bumping" into a cushioning spring.
It measures 34.5mm in diameter excluding the winding crown.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
Its extremely rare to find one of these early examples in such fine condition, clearly its spent most of its life tucked away and rarely worn. This is a museum quality watch.
The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
We can fit any colour or style of strap you prefer.
